In keeping with the sentiment of my August 22 post, here are some more gems ... this time from Massachusetts!

No gorilla is allowed in the back seat of any car.

Bullets may not be used as currency.

No one may cross the Boston Common without carrying a shotgun in case of bears.
It is illegal to eat peanuts in church.
Two people may not kiss in front of a church.

Hopkinton: Though horses and cows are allowed on the common, dogs are prohibited.

Longmeadow: It is illegal for two men to carry a bathtub across the town green.

Marlboro: One may not detonate a nuclear device in the city.

Newton: All families must be given a hog from the town's mayor.

The Red Planet

Mars is the closest to Earth as it's been in 59,619 years! You can view Mars tonight without the aid of a telescope! It'll be at it's closest point Wednesday morning, 5:51 am EST.

You can read more at NASA's site here.

We watched it awhile the other night. Very cool. The next opportunity will be the year 2287.

Buried under Paperwork

Here I am, buried under a pile of paperwork which has no end! *sigh* To relieve the stress of it all I'm taking a break.

Over at the Dominion I see a post which gives a link for an NZ interview with Anthony Simcoe! (streaming video) Break is good. =)

Plans for the New England area Scaper convention in Boston are snowballing. Just hope I can keep up. *g*

This weekend I plan to watch the DVD my Dad sent us for the movie So Close. It's supposed to be the Hong Kong version of Charlie's Angels but with less camp. ;)

Also, new movie coming out soon with Salma Hayek, Antonio Banderas, and Johnny Depp called Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Release date is 9/12/03. Looks good.

Lastly, I found some recipes for Malasada!!! Perhaps there will be a test of the recipes this weekend? and I can munch on the results? heh heh ..

My LiveJournal Sitcom
Being ctegan (TNN, 8:30): ctegan (Patricia Richardson) takes crankygrrl (Morgan Freeman)'s grandfather on a date and ends up necking. Then, atomicpagan (Charlton Heston) bites fbf (Malcolm Gets). Nearby, maramcc (Quentin Tarantino) uses mesascaper (Morgan Fairchild)'s apple. That same day, methought (Cindy Crawford) and kixxa (Nick Nolte) find a lost iguana at a computer store. In the next town over, kernezelda (Jimmy Fallon) and veritykindle (Jason Mewes) don't believe in circadian rhythms. Crazy results follow.

Northeast Scaper convention

Talks are under way for a possible Northeast Scaper convention to take place in Boston in June 2004. Although the idea is a con for Farscape fans in the Northeast, you don't have to be from the Northeast to attend. *g* Right now, it's still at the gauging interest phase, so if you have any interest at all in attending, please shout out here at Kansas or here at Frell Me Dead to let the organizers know. Also, at this time, there is no plan for inviting cast members (ie, no guests), just fellow Farscape fans.

This weekend was a busy one, complete with a Viewing Party, a birthday party, and a visit with my grandmother. (among other things)

Last night we watched Daredevil starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. Although it was dismissed by the critics, I didn't think the movie was that bad. In fact, I enjoyed it; I only wish that there was more tweaking of the script and storyline before it went into production. Other than it was okay; the movie had a lot of potential. Ben did a good job; the character of Elektra was very interesting. It's not something I would watch over and over, but every once in awhile, yes, I would. It's not perfection, but not many movies are.

Reminder: Tonight is a repeat of the CSI: Miami episode starring Ben Browder -- okay, so it doesn't star Ben, but I can dream, right? -- Support the Farscape actors! Watch CSI: Miami -- 10 pm EST!

No Blackouts in Boston

Thank goodness! All those poor people in this heat with no electricity, some with no drinking water! Imagine no shower or not being able to flush the toilet in this heat. Or being stuck on an elevator in a high rise or in those subway tunnels, packed on a train. *shudder* At least, it wasn't raining and storming last night.

Okay, latest installment in Island Chronicles is here.

Chryse (aka Aileen) has posted her Scaper Con pics here.

Also, the Mad Libs (in the style of a bad Farscape fan fic) are here.
